IN THE MAKING: THE LEXINGTON IN APPLE LEATHER AND CANVAS

HOW IT'S MADE

An Otto Razz bag can take up to 40 different pieces to carefully handcraft and assemble one bag. Our bags are handcrafted in Italy with the finest quality fabrics and materials by our skilled artisans. All goods feature a unique smooth apple leather fabric, produced from organic industrial apple waste. We honour and treasure traditional craftsmanship, which is what we believe luxury should stand for.

1. CUTTING AND EDGE PAINTING

One of the most important steps is the cutting stage. This ensures the bags are symmetrical and stitching will be clean and straight. After the apple leather has been cut, the leather edges are painted with a liquid-based coating to cover the raw edge of the apple leather, giving it a smooth look and feel.

2. GLUING APPLE LEATHER EDGES TO CANVAS

Leather glue is applied to the apple leather edges to bond them to the interior reinforces and cotton canvas surfaces. This guarantees strong and flexible pieces and secures the leather for sewing.

3. STITCHING LEATHER TO CANVAS AND PUNCTURES FOR HARDWARE

Once the glue has dried and the leather is in place, the next stage is the stitching of apple leather. Once the individual pieces are sewed, the leather and cotton canvas are punched to make holes for the hardware installation.
